I'M STILL HUMAN

Today I'm in peace with myself
I'm finally freeing my inner self.
Of course I know the real battle has just started.
Despite some huge steps,
in today's society,
there are still some rules to change.
I know I'm going to find people who can't accept me,
who judge my ways, my feelings.
But I'm so happy, I'm full of joy
because I'm joining the fight for equality.
Putting myself first,
not trying to please somebody else.

I have virtues, I have defects
I make decisions, I make mistakes
No matter the race, no matter the age
No matter sexuality or the gender
Don't judge me for who I am,
I'm still human.

You should know before raising your voice
 against the people like me:
It’s not a sin that must be punished,
It’s not a phase that can be overcome
It’s not a choice that can be unmade
It’s not a sickness that can be healed
It’s not a problem that can be solved
It’s just me loving the person I love.

I have virtues, I have defects
I make decisions, I make mistakes
No matter the race, no matter the age
No matter sexuality or the gender
Don't judge me for who I am,
I'm still human.

Stop pointing me with your finger,
Being true to myself is hard enough in this hateful world.
Try to place yourself in my shoes,
I'm just asking the same rights that you have.
Can't you see?
I cannot choose who to love.
My unconquerable heart
has never listened to my ghosts.

I have virtues, I have defects
I make decisions, I make mistakes
No matter the race, no matter the age
No matter sexuality or the gender
Don't judge me for who I am,
I'm still human.

It´s time to listen to my heart
Screaming in my chess
begging for freedom,
asking the right to love without limits,
without restrictions,
without asking for permission.
I'm still human
and I deserve to be treated
as such.

I have virtues, I have defects
I make decisions,  I make mistakes
No matter the race, no matter the age
no matter sexuality or the gender
Don't judge me for who I am,
I'm still human.

Despite every single stereotype that I was taught,
I can't deny what is in my soul.
The truth is that:
I'm tired of hiding,
I'm tired of living a lie.
I've been living in a nightmare
and it's time for me to wake up.
I want the world to hear me shout
I'M PROUD OF THE PERSON I HAVE BECOME
Don't judge me for who I am,
I'm still human.
